Nightjar IQ

The alert-first platform for TrailGuard.

Nightjar makes TrailGuard (the AI camera trap) and Nightjar IQ (the platform). Nightjar IQ turns every TrailGuard detection into a structured record you can alert on and export. Deployed by conservation programmes, protected-area teams, and mining ESG operations across four continents.

How it works

How the AI runs, from camera to dashboard.

Layer 01 · On the camera

Edge filtering.

Onboard AI drops empty triggers (wind, shadows, low-confidence motion) before anything is transmitted. That saves battery and bandwidth.

Layer 02 · On the server

Species, scene, and situation.

Every transmitted frame runs through SpeciesNet against a 17,000+ species model. Scene tags cover weather, vegetation, hydrology, and habitat. Agent-in-the-loop enrichment adds behaviour, count, direction, and threat context. Alerts arrive pre-labelled.

Layer 03 · In the dashboard

Rules, alerts, evidence.

Configurable rules by species, threat type, confidence, and time. Alerts land in seconds. Everything else is kept as a record you can query and export.

Common questions

Common questions.

What is Nightjar IQ, in one line?
The platform that turns every TrailGuard detection into a real-time alert, a structured record and an exportable dataset. Built for teams monitoring remote landscapes for conservation, security or compliance work.
Does Nightjar IQ work with cameras other than TrailGuard?
Nightjar IQ is purpose-built for TrailGuard. Every part of the platform (edge filtering, remote configuration, agent-in-the-loop enrichment, and the alert path) depends on us shipping the hardware end to end. Third-party cameras aren’t on the roadmap. If you already run other trail cameras, keep them for density and card-based survey work, and use TrailGuard where response time changes the outcome.
What integrations are supported today?
Email, Telegram, and EarthRanger are live. Platform webhooks and WhatsApp are coming soon on paid tiers.
How is my data handled?
Your data is always yours. Deployable to EU or global. Data residency options for programmes that need them. Never open-sourced or shared without your consent. Full export at any time in CamtrapDP, GBIF, and CSV formats.
How do I get started?
Explorer to try it: 2 cameras, email alerts, default detection rules. Field once your fleet grows and you need custom rules, Telegram and EarthRanger delivery, real exports, and email support with SLA. Enterprise for regulated programmes. Onboarding is 1 to 3 weeks from first call to operational.
